For years I was always told growing up that you never, ever buy a puppy from a pet store. I never really understood why until today when I decided to investigate puppy mills a little further:

Because puppy mills are such huge cash cows in Pennsylvania, namely in Amish country to bring in some extra income– the Amish look at it from a whole different perspective than any normal animal lover. To them, dogs, by tradition are just another form of livestock. But to us (well, those of us who aren’t sick anyway) it’s disgusting and inhumane. Who’s right? Is anyone?
