Fractalsby Overthrow |
In my fit of nerdy-ness, I am absolutely enthralled by this:

In essence, I recommend downloading the Xaos Fractal Generator (and smoking mad weedz), and watching the beautiful images.

How to make a Crossover Cable with Almost Nothing, Also could be considered Splicing, Patching, Modding, Hacking, Etcby daviddolphin |
This is a guide for making a crossover cable almost out of nothing.
I wrote this guide because all other guides on the internet were how to do it the real way.
Well I am sorry that I don’t possess all the fucking BULL SHIT require to make a real Cat5 crossover cable in my college apartment, I do however have a steak knife and some duct tape.
So what follows is the guide for the rest of us that want to hack our xbox, or share some files with a friend, or whatever else you can even do with a Crossover cable.
/end rant
/begin tutorial
How to make a Crossover Cable with Almost Nothing
Cut the wire in half! Then strip it the outer wrapping off. I used a steak knife.
Then strip the inner wires, the easiest way to do this with no tools is to use a lighter. [Process described below.]
How to strip wire with a lighter:
1.) Heat up insolating plastic about half an inch from the end of the wire.
2.) After about 2 seconds, grab the area you were heating with your pointer finger and thumb, and pull. ( My dad taught me this. )
3.) Cool! Done!
After this is complete wrap the wires together how they are shown above, then wrap them up securely in any old tape you have lying around. ( Electric or duct will work the best. Don’t use scotch :P )
The correct matching for the wiring is as follows
1.) Orange to Green
2.) OrangeWhite to GreenWhite
3.) Green to Orange
4.) GreenWhite to OrangeWhite
The other wires are unneeded, but cut them until no wire is sticking out, and tap off their ends.
YOU ARE NOW DONE. If you came here searching for a more scientific approach, go read a book.

Dingoo A320 Tear Down :: Micro Handheldby daviddolphin |
I tore down the Dingoo a320 to get some part numbers for specific parts that I could potentially replace.
Because my screen is broken, I am going to attempt to replace that.
Good luck, because my soldering skills are not the greatest.
EDIT: Deal Extreme is actually shipping me a new one! So I don’t have to test my soldering skills at all! Woo!
Here is some info about the internals:
